The etarnal question - GOD || !GOD

GOD || !GOD

I came around a very good explanations of why we see pain and suffering all around the world?
A man went to a barbershop to have his hair cut and his beard trimmed. As the barber began to work, they began to have a good conversation.
They talked about so many things and various subjects.
When they eventually touched on the subject of God, the barber said:
"I don't believe that God exists."
"Why do you say that?" asked the customer.
"Well, you just have to go out in the street to realize that God doesn't exist.Tell me, if God exists, would there be so many sick people?Would there be abandoned children? If God existed, there would be neither suffering nor pain.I can't imagine a loving God who would allow all of these things."
The customer thought for a moment, but didn't respond
because he didn't want to start an argument.
The barber finished his job and the customer left the shop.Just after he left the barbershop, he saw a man in the street with long, stringy, dirty hair and an untrimmed beard. He looked dirty and unkempt.
The customer turned back and entered the barber shop again and he said to the barber: "You know what? Barbers do not exist."
"How can you say that?" asked the surprised barber.
"I am here, and I am a barber. And I just worked on you!"
"No!" the customer exclaimed. "Barbers don't exist because
if they did, there would be no people with dirty long hair and untrimmed beards, like that man outside."
"Ah, but barbers DO exist! That's what happens when people do not come to me."
"Exactly!" affirmed the customer.
"That's the point! God, too, DOES exist! That's what happens when people do not go to Him and don't look to Him for help. That's! why there's so much pain and suffering in the world."

Very well said. Now I have a story to tell others. I won't have to argue for long now.

Actually, this was the sole purpose also. But, I want to add that this is not an opinion, like other things, this also needs to be customized :)

It all depends on how you define things (for this post sake, God).

The barber definition of God is - who takes care of all bad things and keep every one happy and healthy. And by rule, anything against your (own) definition of something proves something doesn't exist (or anything relevant in opposite sense).

One the same line, the post has defined barber as - one who make sure that there are no people who have long hairs and beards, which is also not correct.

Since, there is no scientific definition of God, you can make your own. e.g. serendipity's definition of God includes that God is someone who have created the earth. So, it all depends upon how you perceive the world, make your own judgments, understanding and beliefs out of it and how you apply those things in life.

aah!! after a long time..

God...let us start by asking what is God..

From old times - anything which is
non-understandable is God. Which goes out of normal people senses is, God.

From knowledge texts - Some cosmic thing, that eventually is responsibly for the functioning of this world.

From spirituality - You yourself are God, no need to find somewhere else, look in yourself and you will get it.

From science - Yet to be discovered, but strongly believed that as everything is energy, so energy is, God...

From fiction - We all are computer programs and are living in a matrix , being controlled by 'machines'.

One more question, why ever there is a concept of God. There are certain behaviors of human society, people have to have faith in some common entity/thing/phenomenon to live in a belief that we all are same and to live together it is very important to believe that we all who are living together 'are same'.

Now, if we go back to the definition of old time - 'thing out-of-understanding is, God'. In this modern time there are so many things, that are out of control of human beings. Think about older times when human was just a spectator of nature. He/She could only watch what the nature is doing to him/her. At that time, if anything goes wrong(or non-answerable), who is responsible for that - God.

Whom can you believe as God, solely depends on your surroundings, your brought up and chemical-biological combinations. In this way, definition of God varies from person/sect/group/Country to person/../...

Now, if we are at an understanding then we can answer the question that why did God create world in same four ways:

From old times - No knowledge, people had to have belief in something unknown that is acceptable to everyone. Why this thing is still persistent because some people became the mediators to God and wanted to keep this phenomenon alive for their own benefits.

From knowledge texts - The one, who is omnipresent, desired to become multiple. Diversified him-self to create this world.

From spirituality - You are the God, just needed to be searched within yourself. When you are come to know about all your powers, you come to know your true nature....Godism.

From science - Everything is energy, human birth - continuous energy transformation, human dies - change of form.

From fiction - World itself is not real, how can there be god. But, does not answer where did machines come.

Unfortunately, one of our greatest weaknesses as a species is our tendency to rush into the construction of paradigms
which are then defended at all costs.

If you have been brought up in a religious environment,
your paradigm - or belief set - will strongly prejudice you against accepting anything that contradicts the firmly implanted
notion that there is One Almighty God who created us. If you have undergone a scientific training and are encouraged to seek a rational explanation for everything, then a Divine Creation simply does not fit your preconceptions of a logical, comprehensible world. Perhaps Darwinism as a general principle does. If, on the other hand, you are a Peruvian who has never read any holy text or the theory of evolution, then the Andean legend is your supreme belief.

What I say is, what ever paradigm you follow, follow it so diligently that you embrace all of its qualities and become so simple that at any point of time in your life you are able to adapt the qualities of other paradigms also.

Now, why is it difficult to go against your long sustained thoughts/paradigms. Because if you are throwing something out of you then there has to be something to take place for that thing. Now, until and unless you do not find a new thing, a new phenomena, upto that time you can not leave your long sustained thoughts.
For example, how can people worship Amitabh like God, because Amitabh is much more striking to them than any old persistent God(why, their brought up, surroundings etc). They have found a new God :)
